Where do FuelCast fuel prices come from?
FuelCast distinguishes observed station prices, regional averages, published future prices and estimates. Each price page identifies its source and dates. These categories cannot be substituted for one another when deciding where or when to fill up.
United States: weekly averages
US price outlook pages use the US Energy Information Administration’s weekly gas and diesel series. Some states use a wider regional series where no separate state series is available; the page identifies that area. This is not a live station-level price or a guaranteed price for tomorrow.
Western Australia: FuelWatch
FuelWatch publishes prices reported by participating retailers. Tomorrow’s prices become available in the afternoon, after publication. The page separates confirmed tomorrow prices from any broader outlook and shows the date. Do not assume a missing tomorrow price is unchanged.
France: reported station prices
France’s official prix-carburants.gouv.fr service supplies reported station prices. Stations can have different reporting times. A country or department trend does not guarantee the same change at your regular station.
Spain: reported station prices
Spain’s official Ministry / Geoportal service supplies station-price observations. The observation date and the selected fuel matter. A regional direction is not a guaranteed future pump price.
Other markets and old information
Officially regulated markets have their own announcement schedules, listed on the relevant page. Retrieval time and price observation time are different. If the displayed date is old, or a price is missing, confirm it with the station or the named official source.

Is an outlook an official future price?
No. An estimate is separate from a published future price. The relevant page labels which information is available.
Why can the pump price differ?
The observation may be older, apply to a different station or describe a regional average. The current price at the station is the price to check before buying.
